March on NorthWestern Energy
April 29th
For Our Constitutional Right to a “Clean and Healthful Environment”
Why do we need to march?
Montana’s constitution guarantees us a “clean and healthful environment.”
Instead of providing this, NorthWestern Energy’s leadership has been touting a hollow 2050 net-zero PR stunt. They provided a plan for death and destruction, with increased gas use and no accountability, rather than a livable future. Yet they promise us a “bright future.” The numbers do not add up.
So, like many before us, we are marching for our constitutional rights. Join us on April 29th.
What are the demands?
To stay in line with the latest science on avoiding catastrophic warming, we demand that NorthWestern make a real plan for our future that includes the following:
- 100% clean electricity by 2030
- No new fossil fuel infrastructure
- Retirement dates for dirty plants
- Just & equitable siting of new generation facilities
How Can You Get Involved?
We need you to show up! NorthWestern Energy needs to see and hear that we want to change. The only way we will be loud enough is if you join us. Maybe even invite a friend! To join, first check whether there is a march in your area (map and registration links below). If there is, click the link to sign up! If there is not, keep reading for all you need to put on your very own march.
- Bozeman March on Northwestern | 4:15 at Bozeman Beach/Glen Lake Rotary Park (3:30 PM at Bozeman High School if you’d like to join a small group, longer march) — Register here!
How to Host Your Own March
We are hoping to march on NorthWestern Energy at as many of their Montana office locations as possible. If you live in one of these communities, we’ve got everything you need to run your very own march! Head to our action toolkit to get started. You’ll find flyers, social media posts, a sample itinerary, and a guide for how to put it all together. If you live somewhere without an NWE office — not to worry — you still have an important role to play! You can put on a march to a public place in your own community.
Red waypoints denote NWE Office Buildings, those that are highlighted with blue circles have an action already planned. You can click the waypoints for an office address.
